The appearance of negative eating attitudes in individuals with border personality characteristics with first object relations and mental functioning in the Rorschach test

This study was aimed to examine the negative eating attitudes and first object relations of individuals with borderline personality traits using the Rorschach Test. For this purpose, the Brief Symptom Inventory, Borderline Personality Inventory, and Eating Attitudes Scale were applied to a group of 34 people and used as an exclusion criterion, and those above the cut-off score of the Borderline Personality Inventory and Eating Attitudes Scale were included in the study. The Rorschach Projective Perception Test was applied to the included group of 25 people, the answers of the participants were interpreted in accordance with the content analysis according to the framework of the hypotheses and formed the findings part. In line with the answers and our hypotheses, it was determined that the participants with borderline personality traits and negative eating attitudes had ambiguous designs in the appearance of object relations in the Rorschach test, they could not integrate with the object, they used compartments, there were gap responses indicating emotional dissatisfaction, anatomy responses were given, color and movement responses were given, which was thought to be caused by impulsivity. Besides the answers that support the hypotheses of our study, suggestions are given for future studies.
