Abstract (EN)
The reshaping of the globalizing world order, the development of new understanding and policies have not only increased the interaction and dependency between countries and regions, but also increased the spreading speed of development effects in countries and regions. With the globalization of the economic system and neoliberal economic policies, the searches of policy makers and researchers have increased for the solution of problems such as poverty, unemployment, and injustice in income distribution. Border trade as part of these quests, in general opinion, emerges as a form of trade that significantly affects and changes the social and economic structure of the regions where this trade is carried out and the cities where the border gate is located. The thesis focuses on concepts such as poverty, unemployment and income distribution injustice, which constitute the main problems of Sirnak. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the impact of the Habur Border Gate on the economy of the province of Sirnak and its sociological reflections on the people of the local community. In the thesis, the evaluations of the participants residing in the region between 15 October and 15 December 2019 were taken into consideration and judicial (purposeful) sampling was used for the sample of the research. In addition, descriptive statistical methods were used to reveal the views of the participants. In order to classify social and economic variables within themselves, exploratory factor analysis application was performed. On the other hand, an analysis was made by using Anova and T test, which is one of the inferential statistical methods to determine the relationships between demographic information such as gender, age, and educational status. It has been concluded that the reasons such as poverty in the region and insufficient employment areas cause the local community to see Habur Border Gate as an alternative and interest in social and economic terms.
