The impact of digital printing techniques on tableware products in the context of consumer preferences on Kütahya table settings: A case study of tableware practice

Although design is defined as the first step of satisfying human needs functionally and aesthetically, many design disciplines serve different actions. Graphic design is one of these disciplines and can be defined as visually expressing an idea or subject. It is observed that graphic design, which has a wide range of areas of interest (books, magazines, posters/banners, interfaces, food and beverage equipment, etc.), is used effectively in every field together with developing technology and production/practice techniques. It is seen that graphic design plays an important role in the table ceramics sector examined within the scope of the study. The primary purpose of this thesis is to reveal/understand the impact of digital printing techniques on tableware, especially in terms of time and the alternatives it offers, and to observe this through the user. In the study, a survey prepared online and based on voluntary participation using a 5-point Likert scale was used, and the study was limited to users/consumers residing in Kütahya. It was aimed to develop practice proposals for residential tables in Kütahya, together with the data obtained from the survey. It is thought that the results obtained from this study, which was conducted specifically in the province of Kütahya by offering a regional perspective based on local culture and demands, will make significant contributions to the literature and professionals/companies working in the field, in terms of pioneering similar studies for other regions or cultures.
