Abstract (EN)

The Social Studies course contains various knowledge, abilities and values in its content in order to enable individuals to become aware of the characteristics they have and to gain a place for themselves in society. Social Studies course prepares students for life in one aspect and ensures that students become effective and active members in society in the other aspect. Social Studies, which is an interdisciplinary course, includes various social sciences such as sociology, history, georaphy, economics, anropology, philosophy, psychology, political science and law, as well as many disciplines such as human rights, democracy, citizenship, communication and human relations Dec. One of the primary obiectives of the Social Studies course is to proyide the teaching of the values that make up the general Decrees and beliefs that have an important function in keeping the members of the society together. In order to ensure this unity, texbooks prepared in accordance with the Social Studies curriculum (4th, 5th, 6th and 7th classroom) the folowing values are included. Giying importance to family unity, fairness, ,ndependence, peace, freedom, science, hard work, solidarity, sensitiyity, honesty, aesthetics, equality, thrift, hospitality, giying importance to being healthy, respect, love, responsibility, cleanliness, benevolence and patriotism. The purpose of this research is to study Social Studies (4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. classroom) is the study of the situation of giying place to the value of patriotism in textbooks. In the reseach, the 4th academic year taught in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2022-2023 academic year, 5th, 6th and 7th classroom Social Studies textbooks were examined. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, document review method was used as a qualitative reseach method. Content analysis technique was used as the data analysis technique in the research. As can be seen in the results table, the following conclusions were reached when the value of patriotism was examined in the dimension of text, visual, preparation and evaluation question. 4th in the classroom Social Studies textbook, we see that the value of patriotism is one of the most commonly used values along with the values of responsibility, sensitivity, love and solidarity. Also 4th it has been determined that value of patriotsm is used together with the concepts of national culture and love of nation in the classroom Social Srudies textbook. 5th in the classroom Social Studies textbok, it has been found that the value of patriotism has gained very little space, while the values of sensitivity and science are used more. On the contrary, 6th in the classroom Social Studies textbook, it has been found that the value of patriotism is giyen a lot of space, and along with patriotism, the values of science, independence, faimess and responsibility are emphasized in many places. Finaly, 7th in has been determined that the Social Studies class book also focuses on independence, good citizenship, promotion of the country, as well as the owenership and promotion of natural, historical and cultural heritage in the unit or learning areas where the value of patriotism is included.
