Determinati̇on of multiple intelli̇gence areas of social studies teacher candidates and examinati̇on of their attitudes towards teaching

The aim of this research is to determine dominant intelligence fields of social sciences candidates of teacher according to poly-intelligence theory created by Howard Gardner and to measure their behaviour levels for occupation of teaching. By this aim, it has been studied whether there has been difference in their behaviours for occupation of teaching according to some demographic varieties or not. 192 social sciences candidates of teacher studying in education faculty of Manisa Celal Bayar University have participated in the research. In collecting data, it has been used poly-intelligence inventory studied by Özden(1997) adapting to Turkish with the aim of determination of poly-intelligence fields of social sciences candidates of teacher and it has been used behaviour scale for occupation of teaching consisting of fifty-two items and developed by Tanrıöğen with the aim of determination of their behaviours for occupation of teaching. As for with aim of studying behaviours for occupation of teaching according to some varieties, it has been carried out personal information form involving social-demographic varieties such as gender, class and age. In analysis of data having been acquired from the research, it has been used t-test, oneway Anova analysis, corelation analysis besides descriptive statistics suitable for the aim of the research. It has been determined that the naturist intelligence field from the lower dimension of Social sciences candidates of teacher for poly-intelligence theory and physical-kinaesthetic intelligence field have the highest point average but logical-mathematical and musical rhytmical intelligence fields are ones having the lowest point average. As a result of analysis of data having been acquired, it has been brought to conclusion that social sciences candidates of teacher have high-leveled behaviour for occupation of teaching.
