Abstract (EN)
In this research, it was aimed to evaluate the opinions of social studies teacher candidates regarding the use of virtual museums in social studies teaching and the acquisition of values related to virtual museums. The research was designed as a mixed method. In the qualitative stage of the research, it was structured with a phenomenology pattern. In the quantitative dimension, a single group pretest-posttest weak experimental design was used. The study group of the research consists of twenty-two students in the social studies teaching department of Kütahya Dumlupınar University. The research was repeated on a single group. The data of the research were collected using the "Virtual Museum Virtual Tour Satisfaction Scale" adapted into Turkish by Teker and Özer (2016). In addition to the scale used, semi-structured interview questions were prepared and interviews were conducted with the teacher candidates. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test, one of the descriptive statistics, was used in the analysis of the obtained data. The data obtained in the qualitative part of the research were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. According to the results of the analysis, the opinions of the pre-service teachers regarding the use of virtual museums showed a significant positive increase as a result of the activities. According to pre-service teachers, the use of virtual museums positively affects patriotism, scientificity, independence and aesthetic values. teacher candidates' views on the suse of virtual museums showed a significant positive increase as a result of the activities.
