Abstract (EN)

The basis purpose of this study is to investigate the process of design-oriented thinking skills of candidates of the social sciences teacher to the projects they prepared in the course of community work applications studies. Qualitative research method was used in this study. The research design is composed of phenomenological research method that is one of the qualitative research models. Observation and semi-structured interview technique were used for the collection of data. The data obtained by using observation and semi-structured interview technique are analyzed with descriptive analysis. The study group consists of 16 candidates who are studying in the social studies undergraduate program of the Faculty of Education at Ağrı Ibrahim Çeçen University. The study was conducted by forming groups of four of the teacher candidates who participated in the research. The data collection process of this research took 6 weeks. As a result of this study, it was found that the design-oriented thinking approach positively affected the development of the participants ' skills such as designing, empathizing, multidimensional perception, researching, producing solutions, problem solving and critical thinking. In addition, it was observed that the participants developed features such as co-acting, being in group solidarity, being more sensitive.
