Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the self-efficacy perception and views of social studies teacher candidates in using creative drama method.In this research, "Self Efficacy Perception Scale for Using Creative Drama Method" has been used which is developed by Can and Cantürk-Günhan (2009). The scale is a 5-point Likert type scale consisting of 47 items. The study group of this research is Social Studies Senior Teacher Candidates who are studying from Aksaray, Akdeniz, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir, Necmettin Erbakan and Nevşehir Hacı Bektaşi University Education Faculty at 2017-2018 academic year. 43 teacher candidates from Aksaray University, 60 teacher candidates from Necmettin Erbakan University, 76 teacher candidates from Akdeniz University, 47 teacher candidates from Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University and 26 teacher candidates from Nevşehir Hacı Bektaşi Veli University has been participated to the study. 129 of the participants are female and 123 of them are male. Totally, 253 teacher candidates has been participated. The SPSS 21.0 package program was used to analyze the data in the study. Descriptive analysis (such as frequency, %, standard deviation) also was used. Since the data did not show normal distribution, non-parametric tests were used. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used for comparisons independent variables. In the qualitative dimension of the study, the case study method was used.Open-ended questions about the use of drama were asked to candidate teachers. The obtained data was coded under the themes which will be determined. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that candidate teachers' self-efficacy perception towards using creative drama method was positive. Significant differences between universities were determined according to gender variable in determining self-efficacy perceptions for using creative drama method.There are opinions of the candidate teachers that the creative drama method is effective in teaching the social studies lesson, making the student active and removing the lesson from the boredom, using the creative drama method in the social studies lesson and in conformity with many subjects.
