Museum habits of social studies teachers: An example of Erzurum city

The purpose of this research is to determine museum habit of social studies teachers and utilization situation from museums in the field of education. The research has been executed in general survey model and survey form which is developed by researcher, has been used as data collection tool. The social studies teachers in Erzurum compose accessible universe of the research and total 124 social studies teachers, who work in Erzurum, compose sample of the research. The obtained results have been analyzed with statistic package software ''SPSS for Windows 22.0''. As a result of the research; it is seen that most of the teachers are interested in museum visit and they visit museums individualistically but besides this, the rate of teachers arranging museum visit with pupils is low. It has been determined that one fifth of the teachers have participated in service training about how to teach at museums. Besides; it has been determined that bachelor teachers complain much more about red tape related to museum visits than the teachers who have postgraduate's degree
