Investigation of communication skills of social studies and Turkish preservi̇ce teachers

Communication is transferring feelings, thoughts and open himself, in short it is a process of transferring information which people share with each other. Communication is in our lives since the existence of human beings. Communication is a priority process for humans, society and education. Communication has a major role for the transformation of societies, their development and transferring the information for the next generations. Communication skill is the skill that a Person has throughout his life and used in his life. Communication has and important place in our education. One of the main obsectives of education is totrain qualified manpower and in line with thispurpose, the program has been planned. White communication is important bath in our Daily life and education ıt was been the subsect of academic research.although litetarature Baykara Pehlivan (2005), Tepeköylü (2007) have been studied, what makes this study important is the lock of research on the communication skills that are important for teaching Turkish and Social studies ıt was seen that there is not enough studies about communication skills. The aim of this study is to determine the social skills and communication skills of prospective Turkish teachers. The communication skills levels of Turkish and social studies teachers preservice do not Show a significant difference according to gender, deperment, class level, number of siblings, mother and father education level father occupation status and mass madia use. The aim of this research is to determine the levels of communication skills of the Social Sciences and Turkish teachers and idaes who are currently studying at Kirsehir Ahi Evran University. The universe of this research is formed of the preservice teacher who are studying at Kirsehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Education in 2018-2019 education year. The sampling of this research is formed of the 1st, 2rd, 3rdand 4thgrade students who are studying at Kirsehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Education Department of Social Sciences and Turkish Education Department in 2018-2019 education year. During the quantitative data collection process survey method has been used in this research. Descriptive data analysis has been used to analyse the data collected using the scale developed by there searcher. As a part of research, % tables, correlation analysis (pearson), one way variant analysis (ANOVA), regression analysis are used for quantitative data analysis and t test for the independent groups. As a result, the communication skills of the preservice teachers has been studied under 7 subextentions (oral, tacit, listening, empathy, assertiveness, conflictresolution, emotional intelligence), and the independent variables are evaluated on general communication skills. It is seenthattherates of WhatsAppandInstagramusageamongthestudents has beenhigh. There is a meaningful difference about the total of preservice teacher and the social studies preservice between their time spent on social media and their communication skills, on the other hand this cannot be said for the Turkish preservice teachers. The communication skills of the preservice teachers who do not use social media is higher than those whouse social media.
