Attitudes of social work students towards ageism: Yalova University case

The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of social work students towards ageism. 418 students from Yalova University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Social Work were participated this descriptive study. Research data were collected by using questionnaire form which was prepared by the researcher and Ageism Attitude Scale (AAS). The data obtained in the study were analyzed using SPSS for Windows 21.0 program. It is determined that there is significant difference between students' attitudes towards ageism and grade level, gender, ownership status of the residence where students' families live, number of rooms in their homes, living with elderly relative, living alone, desire to work with the elderly after graduation. It has been found that social work students have positive attitudes towards ageism.
