Abstract (EN)

Social media which becomes a place that people interact with each other, produce content and access to these produced content easily takes place in everyone's life. Religious life which is in the area of influence of virtual world shapes with media. Although social media was discussed widely in researches due to its undeniable place in our lives, researches about its relation with religion and religious life remains limited now. In this study the relationship between social media addiction of the students in faculty of theology and their religious life practices has been discussed. In this research it's aimed to examine the relationship between social media addiction of the students studies in Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Faculty of Theology and their 'religion' sense and the main reasons which lies at the heart of this issue. Rapidly developing technology in line with the age of information and communication technology has enabled societies to access information in a shorter time and more effectively. In this context, educational institutions and organizations have been obliged to use and make more use of communication opportunities with each passing day. According to the results of this research, it has been determined that social media addiction has an interaction on religious life practices in theology faculty students.
