Abstract (EN)

In this research, the relationship between social media addiction and the need for social approval in university students was examined, 155 male and 387 female, 542 university students from various deportments has participated to this research. To measure social media addiction of the students social media addiction measurement scale form, to mesure need for social approvale, scale for social approval from and personal information from is used. In this research, the relationship between university students social media addiction levels and their need for social approval was investigated by opplying pearson correlation analysis. Social media addition scores of university students, whether it predicts social approval needs scores simple linear regression analysis was used to examine it. Deportures of social media addiction points and need of social opprovals are, gender, grade level, year of social media use, and T-test and nova were used to find out whether the variables of time spent on social media daily differ. According to the findings of the researcn, it was stated that there is a moderately positive relationship berween the perceived need for social approval and social media addiction among university students. In addition the need for social approval in university students, explaned by the rale of 43.1 of social media addiction. In the researcn, sensitivity to the judgments of others one of the subellimensions of the need for social approval predicts social media addiction negatively and statistically significantly. Need for social approval from sub-dimensions social withdrawal and make a positive imperession predicts social media addiction positively and statistically significantly.
