An international study towards the link between social capital and positive psychologial capital with cultural i̇ntelligence at the healt sectör

The concept of cultural intelligence, which is stated as the ability of orientation by understanding differences, has been gaining importance in recent years. Studies dealing with individuals' attitudes in the face of differences by associating to cultural intelligence with individual and social traits have not been encountered in the literature. With this study, the concept of cultural intelligence is addressed together with positive psychological capital and social capital at the international level. An international study is achieved by examining cultural intelligence's relationship with positive psychological capital and social capital of health care professionals in Sweden, Romania, South Korea and Turkey which represent Europe, The Balkans and The Far East. In the study, data, collected via questionnaire technique from 987 health care professionals of four countries, which are forming the system, is analyzed with statistical methods. Positive and meaningful connections are deduced between health care professionals' social capital and positive psychological capital with their cultural intelligence at the end of the analysis. Countries are sorted by considering the relationships between demographical factors and sub-dimensions, and Turkey's status quo is exhibited. Sorting of Turkey, Romania, South Korea and Sweden is revealed in terms of cognitive and motivational cultural intelligence dimensions. It has been found that Turkey, apart from optimism, is at the last place with regards to sub-dimension levels of positive psychological capital. Moreover, it is in the midst of four countries in terms of sub-dimensions of social capital.
