Abstract (EN)

Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spiritual information messages on menopausal complaints and attitudes towards menopause in postmenopausal women. Material and Method: The research was conducted between April 2022 and September 2022 in four different Family Health Centers affiliated with Hatay Payasa. A total of 272 postmenopausal women over the age of 45 who were registered at the Family Health Center and who met the inclusion criteria were included in the sample (136 experimental group, 136 control group). Personal Information Form, Menopause Symptoms Assessment Scale (MSRS) and Attitudes towards Menopause Scale (AtMS) were used to collect data. The researcher sent two spiritual information messages a day to the women in the experimental group via WhatsApp for 12 days. No intervention was performed on women in the control group. Results: It was determined that the severity of pre-intervention menopause complaints and attitudes towards menopause of women in the experimental and control groups were similar and the difference between the groups was not statistically significant (p>0.05). After the intervention, the MSRS mean scores of the women in the experimental group decreased significantly and the difference between them and the control group was statistically significant (p<0.001); It was determined that the average AtMS score increased significantly in the experimental group and the difference between them and the control group was statistically significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: It was determined that spiritual information messages sent to women reduced menopause complaints and positively affected attitudes towards menopause. It may be recommended that midwives include spiritual practices in the care of menopausal women. Key Words: post menopause, spiritual message, menopausal complaints, menopause attitude
