Abstract (EN)

Objective:The aim of this research is to determine the psychological resilience and academic postponement status of sports sciences faculty students according to some variables and to examine the relationship between the levels of psychological resilience and academic procrastination. Method:The sample of the research consist of 400 students studying at the Akdeniz University Sports Science Faculty in the 2016-2017 academic year. The data in this research, developed by Friborg and his friends (2005) collected by the scales that were adopted to Turkish by Basım and Çetin (2011) (the psychological resilience scale for adults) and (academic procrastination scale) developed by Çakıcı. The T- test, ANOVA test and Pearson Correlation coefficient were used in the research. Findings:There was a statistically significant difference in the academic procrastination levels of students did not differ according to the department variable they were studying, the academic procrastination levels were significantly different according to their GANO's. The academic procrastination levels of the students did not differ according to their sporting situation, whereas the psychological resilience level was significantly different. A negative correlation was found between academic postponement and psychological resilience levels of the students. Results:Student's level of psychological resilience and academic procrastination is moderate. Female students have higher level of psychological resilience and on the other hand males have higher level of academic procrastination. The academic postponement level of students with lower academic achievement is lower than the low students. According to the state of sports, while the academic postponement status didn't change by the state of sports, the students who were engaged in the sport of struggle had high psychological resilience. As the student's psychological resilience increases, their academic postponements decrease. Key words: Physical education, psychological resilience, academic postponement.
