The reasons that students who educate in sport high schools enter into these schools and the research of their professional expectations

The aim of this study is the reasons that students who educate in Sport High Schools enter into these schools and the research of their professional expectations. The study universe is formed by 10 Sport High Schools and 904 students who start their education in 2004?2005 and still educate in these schools. The sample study includes 691students who educate in the same schools. In this study, the ideas and thoughts of the students were determined by a questionnaire. The questionnaire has five sections in total. In the first section in 13 questions their personal and social-cultural datas, in the second section in 8 question the factors which are related to students? tendency to Sport High Schools, in the third section in 12 questions the reasons of students? preference about Sport High Schools, in the fourth section in 8 questions the expectations of students from Sport High Schools, in the fifth section in 17 questions the degree of being met these expectations are asked. The data gathered by applying the questionnaire method are arranged in MS Excel for the statistical operation. The appropriateness and realibility test is applied in SPSS statistical programmer. Crosstabulation and chi-square tests are applied in SPSS as statistical tests. The results of the tests show that the subjects prefer Sports High Schools because of their interest in sport and the effections of their environment, their desire of being a good athlete in the future and also their belief in educating well in Sport High School for the university. The findings show that Sport High Schools as an instutation are insufficient. So it is necessary to make Sports High Schools attain to international standarts, to employ trainers besides sport teachers for much success in branches, to spread schedule in planned way inaccording to competitions and to organize lectures about sport. Students in Sport High Schools say that they prefer Sport High Schools because of their desires and their interests, their expectations about the university, physical structure of Sport High Schools. Besides them, they say that they are glad to educate in Sport High Schools in many aspects, their confidences increases, their social behaviours develop, they are happy to study physical education, their knowledge about sport develops, their education helps them to have a good physical apperance, their desire of being interested in sport as a job.
