Abstract (EN)

This research is a descriptive study that aims to examine the communication skill levels of riot police personnel working in sports competitions in terms of various variables such as age, gender, marital status, having children, educational status, and duration of employment. The population of the research consists of riot police personnel affiliated to Gaziantep Provincial Security Directorate, and the sample group consists of 229 individuals selected on a voluntary basis. The "Communication Skills Inventory (IBI)" developed by Ersanlı and Balcı (1998) was used as the data collection tool in the study. SPSS 22.0 program was used to analyze the data. T test and Variance analysis were used as statistical methods. It was determined that the data showed a normal distribution, and the Independent Sample t test was used for the comparison of the paired groups and the One Way ANOVA analysis was used for the comparison of multiple groups. The level of significance was taken as p <0.05. As a result of the research, it was determined that the communication skills of the riot police personnel in the study were generally positive. It was determined that as the age and education level increased, there was a positive interaction in communication skills. In addition, it was concluded that those who lived in big cities and cities had more positive communication skills than those who lived in districts and villages in terms of the location variable before the profession.
