Examining the relationship between sports facility adequacy and the excellent performances of athletes

This thesis study was conducted for the purpose of "Examining the Relationship between Sports Facility Adequacy and the Excellent Performances of Athletes" among individuals who do sports. The population of the research consists of athletes who are active in team and individual sports in Antalya city center. The sample group is n=313 in total from Antalya; It consists of 94 female and 219 male athletes. The research is a research in the relational screening model and correlation and regression analysis with inventory method was used. The "Sports Facility Adequacy Inventory" developed by Çetin and Karaçam (2020) and the "Excellent Performance Inventory in Sports" adapted into Turkish by Esentaş, Güzel, Yavaş Tez (2020) were used as a survey for the study group of the research. The surveys were filled out on a voluntary basis by the researcher, after receiving ethics committee approval and permission from the relevant university administrations, by giving brief information about the subject to the sample group. According to the statistical results, although there was a negative and positive relationship between sports proficiency and the excellent performances of athletes, it was found that only performance towards others, which is the sub-dimension of the Excellent Performance Inventory in Sports, had a linear relationship with perfectionism. As a result, it has been observed that sports facility adequacy positively affects excellent performance in sports. Key Words: Sports facility adequacy, excellence, sports, performance.
