Abstract (EN)
In this study, young athletes are intended to explore the factors that encourage this sport in their participation in sports climbing and to determine their achievements to the individual. In this study, 113 men and 38 women were selected by a random method of the Kütahya Provincial Security Directorate and 151 police members were involved. The data sheet prepared in the scope of the study consists of three parts. In the first part, a personal information form was used to identify the demographic characteristics of the participants; in the second part, the "Scale of Free time obstacles", developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997), adapted to Turkish by Karakucuk and Gürbüz (2007), was used to determine the obstacles to their participation in the recreational activities. In this study, the question of how sports climbing can make a difference in physical, psychological and social dimensions is sought. Qualitative research pattern has been used in the study and the reasons why people who have received this training and the views of the gains they have obtained have been studied and tried to be found. Analysis of data obtained from surveys and cross-variables comparisons have benefited from the SPSS 22.0 program. As a result of this research, a significant difference was found between the participants' scores of genders, marital status, their most experienced residential unit and leisure barriers (p<0.05), where they evaluated their age, working years, leisure time and where they were able to spend their free time (p>0.05).
