Abstract (EN)

The porpuse of this study was to determine level of trunk strength and range of motion 18-20 years old and female in athlets and sedentary groups second aim of this study is to compare trunk strength and Range of motion among groups according to exercise habit and sex During 1995-1996 academic year totally 30 male and 30 female subject who were from Karadeniz Technical University were participated in this study Strength and range of motion of subject were measured by triaxial isostation B-200 dynomometer. In order to find out differences among groups, one way ANOVA was used. Also, Tukey's HSD test was performed to determine the orijin of difference between groups Result of this study showed that in female exercise habit has no effect on Range of motion with contrast to males On the other hand, Range of motion seems to be effected by sex factor.Mean isometrik maximum torque of male athletes was female athletes and male sedentary groups have similar to each others. Both exercise habit and sex factor have positive effect on isometric strength development. This similar trend was seen in movements velocity at dynamic low and high resistance.
