Abstract (EN)

The Relation of 2D: 4D Ratio with Aerobic Capacity in Sportsmen and Sedentary Living Individuals In this study, we measured the lengths of the 2 nd (index finger) and 4 th (ring finger) fingers in athletes and sedentary individuals and determined their ratios and aimed to compare 2D, 4D finger ratios with performance data. A total of 102 male volunteers participated in the study, 51 people who played taekwondo and kick box sports in the 18-38 age range and 51 people who did not play the sport. Age, height, weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, right and left hand 2nd and 4th finger length, aerobic and anaerobic power test measurements were performed. SPSS 22.0 program was used for the analysis of the obtained data. First of all, normality tests of the data were performed. Data were analyzed normally by parametric tests. Significance level was accepted as 0.05. There were statistically significant differences between the sign and ring finger length ratios (2D: 4D) of the athletes and sedentaries participating in the study (p <0.05). 2D and 4D ratios of right and left hands of athletes and sedentaries were similar. There was no statistically significant difference between the 2D and 4D ratios between the groups. Similarly, there was no significant correlation between other performance results and 2D 4D finger ratios (p> 0.05). As a result, no significant relationship was found between aerobic capacity and 2D: 4D finger ratios. Keywords: 2D: 4D, Aerobic Capacity, Sedentary, Athlete, Performance
