This study aimed to examine some respiratory parameters of musicians who play wind instruments and individuals who do sports in different branches. In this context, the study was carried out with students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Department of Music of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, all of whom will be students of Hitit University. The study was classified into 3 different groups. A total of 20 people, 15 girls and 5 boys, who actively do sports from the Faculty of Sports Sciences, whose age range was 18-35, a total of 20 people, 15 girls and 5 boys, who play side flute and clarinet in the Department of Music, and a total of 20 people, 15 girls and 5 boys, who were sedentary in the control group, were included in the study. Questions such as gender, age, smoking, alcohol use, chronic/acute disease, covid disease and vaccination status were asked to obtain descriptive information of the participants participating in the study. Respiratory function tests Spirometer (FEV1, FEV1/FVC, FVC, PEF Max.), maximal inspiratory (MIP) and expiratory pressure (MEP) Powerbreathe K5 device were used to measure. At the end of the study, it was determined by the Shapiro-Wilk test that the data obtained consisted of data with a normal distribution. In the analyses performed, one-way anova test was used in multiple group comparisons, and Tukey test was used as a post hoc test to determine the difference levels of the groups. As a result of the comparison of the s-index, pıf and volume values of all three groups, although the highest values were in the group that did sports, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups. In addition, when we look at the results obtained, it was determined that smoking and alcohol use, having had covit 19 and having been vaccinated against covit did not create a significant difference between the groups in respiratory muscle parameters (p> 0.05). As a result, we can suggest that both doing sports and playing wind instruments positively affect people's respiratory muscle parameters and, in this context, include respiratory training that will improve respiratory muscle strength.
