Abstract (EN)

The main properties that make porcelain tablewares attractive are its high whiteness and translucency. In this study, sodium feldspar, porcelain glaze scraps and boron oxide containing frit were used as a fluxing agent in the porcelain body, and their effects on the mechanical-visual properties of the body were investigated. In addition, the translucency, sintered body strength, sintered body deformation and microhardness values of the samples were measured after firing and optimum production conditions of samples with different fluxing agents were determined by using the taguchi method. In the study, fluxing agent rate (3%, 5%, 7% and 10%), sintering temperature (1210, 1230, 1250 and 1270°C), sintering time (5, 6, 7 and 8 hours) and slurry density (1670, 1700, 1730 and 1760 g/L) were selected as production parameters. In all experiments, the particle size was fixed as below 30 µm. In addition, as a result of the trials, it was seen that the glaze scraps can be used in porcelain bodies.
