Semantic comparison of translation of Galatat by Sirri Pasha and İbn-i Kemal's Galatat'ül-Avam

The aim of the study is to reveal the meaning changes that occure over time by comparing the meanings of the common words which are considered as misconstruction in the two works which are about three centruies aport and is to explain meaning occurrence that cause these meaning changes. The comporison was made on the basis of Terceme-i Galatatü'l Avam which is translation of on Arabic workGalatatü'l Avam. These works in which there are same words this still used today are explained in the fromework of Kamus-i Turki, Ottoman-Turkish Encylepedic Dictionary and Turkish Dictionary. At the beginning of the study. Misconstruction and the history of misconstruction was given in the first section, sementic and its subheadings the meaning changes and meaning occurrence that causes these meaning cherges are explained in the second chepter information about the aouthors of the works examined and the works written in the Ottaman Turkish were transeribed. İn the third chapter the common words in the works are interpreted in the works are interpreted in the light of the meanings changes and meaning events given in the introduction with in the fromework of Kamus-i Turki, Ottoman-Turkish Encylepedic Dictionary and Turkish Dictionary. At the end of the thesis there are index, conclusion and bibliogrephy.
