Evaluation of factor 8 levels in patients with st elevated – NON ST elevated myocardial infarction

Abstract (EN)
Introduction: In the last few years, we have seen patients with acute coronary syndromes that do not carry the risk factors known. Because of determination of additional risk factors; we wanted to see whether the values of F8 levels differed in patients with ST Elevated – Non ST Elevated patients. We aimed to determine preventable risk factors with the obtained results. we aimed to provide spesific treatment options such as new antithrombotic drugs that would reduce F8 – vWF complexity, if there is significant difference between STEMI and NSTEMI. F8 levels of the patients diagnosed with ME will be measured and the results will be analyzed by comparing with healthy individuals. Method: Our study is prospective and included patients who were referred with chest pain to Atatürk University emergency department lasted for 3 months. According to the definition of the third universal myokard infarction, clinical evaluation and routine examination were performed to determine STME or NSTME. The study groups were identified as STME, NSTME and control group. The control group consisted of patients who were excluded the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome who were admitted to the emergency service and whose admission criteria were met. Measurement of F8 levels in all groups planned. Findings: 55 patients with acute coronary syndrome were included in the study. The study group consisted of 11 female (20%) and 44 male (80%) patients. The mean age range is 63 ± 14 and 23 to 91 years. Sixty-three patients were included in the control group. The control group consisted of 28 (45.5%) female and 35 (55.5%) male patients and the mean age was 42 ± 16. In the patient and control groups, the mean of F8 levels were not statistically significant, although their means were significantly different. In the patient group, STEME and NSTEME groups were formed as subgroups and F8 levels were compared. There was no significant result (p = 0,226). F8 levels were not significant in patients with a history of coronary artery disease (p = 0.79). High F8 levels (> 150) were detected in 14.5% (n = 8) of patients and low F8 levels (<70) were detected in 10% (n = 5). The remaining 42 (75.5%) patients had normal F8 levels. Patients with comorbidities were found to have a direct effect on the survival of the patients (p <0.001). Hematocrit (p = 0.029), AST (p = 0.006) and albumin (p = 0.02) values were statistically significant when biochemical parameters were correlated with survival. Conclusions: There was no statistically significant difference in F8 levels between STEME and NSTEME groups. No significant results were found in the acute coronary syndromes compared to the control group. Keywords: Acute coronary syndrom, Factor VIII, Albumin, AST
