Abstract (EN)
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease in which variable cells and organic molecules play role. Goal of asthma treatment should be clinical control of the symptomps. It is well- known that arway inflammations can be controlled by effective treatment regimens. Altough there are direct indicators showing status of inflammation control, there is stil need for new markers which are easily appliable, repetable and cheap. Serum high sensitive CRP maybe such a marker. In this study we aimed to show correlation between hs-CRP levels and degree of airway obstruction and disease control in stable patient. 70 patient being followed by chest disease clinics were included in our study. All patients had stable disesase. Disease status were determined for each patient by using asthma control tests. Spirometric tests were applied to each patient and hs-CRP levels were recorded. Patients whose disease were well controlled according to ACT had relatively low hs-CRP serum levels compered to ones who had uncontrolled asthma howewer correlation was not statisticaly meaningful. Hs-CRP serum levels of patients who had mild disease significantly lower compered to were moderate or heavy disease. More over the patients whose FEV1 values are under %80, hs-CRP serum levels again were higher compered to ones having FEV1>%80. As a result we assume that there is a significant correlation between hs-CRP levels and degree of disease control and airway obstruction. There should be more studies revoling hs-CRP levels and disease control levels.
