Investigation of the dusting degree in wilton type face to face carpets woven by staple fiber (acrylic/ viscose) blended yarns

Carpets are products that are called textile-flooring materials and are woven by conventional production methods. It has become more functional in order to better meet the expectations of the end user due to the increase in demand due to growth in population, purchasing power, construction and automotive sectors. In this study, performance tests results and fiber bind analyses of both the carpet and its pile yarns that produced from staple viscose (CV), polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and their blend at certain level were searched. It is well known that two most important factors effecting the degree of dusting in carpet are the blend ratio and dust removal process. Herein, the samples were produced in two groups to examine the effect of the process on dusting. Dusting process was applied to the first group and it was not applied to the second group. In this way, the effect of dust removal process is evaluated. Purpose of the study; determination of the optimum blend ratio in which the degree of dust removal is minimal. The effect of the blend ratios on the carpet usage performance was also evaluated according to the results of the applied tests and statistical analyzes.
