Abstract (EN)
Keywords: Capacitor, static var compensation, thyristor Energy crisis which we have lived in last recent years cause to discover new energy resources also concentration to design efficient systems and to study about usage of existing energy recourses more efficiently. One of the most effective precautions for surging productivity and saving energy is reactive power compensation. It is possible to compensate the reactive power which is stable with using fixed capacitors. But it is not suitable solution for variable reactive power continuously. The best solution for frequently varying reactive power is automatic compensation systems. There are basically two different systems as to changing period which is the first one, conventional (contactor switching) compensation system for low changing and the second one static (thyristor switching) compensation system for fast changing.
