Abstract (EN)

Zooarcheology is the term suggested by Lubback in 1800's to express faunal remain studies in archeological sites. Zooarcheology answers many questions like which animals were used by ancient people, what was their food habbits, how did animals die, when certain animal species were tamed, what were the benefits of people from these animals except diet and which species shared the same ecological area with people. In this study the bones collected from the Stratonikeia excavation site were analysed morphologically first. Acording to this analysis %43 of the bones were determined on familia level, %16.6 of them could be determined on genus-species level. Besides the morphological analysis moleculer method was used for species identification. In accordance with DNA sequence analysis obtained from bone samples Coun alpinus (%79) and Capra ibex (%75) species were identified.
