Abstract (EN)

Today, individuals are faced with a certain amount of stress both in their daily life and in working life, which covers an important period of the day. Accurate and fast determination of the sources of this stress is effective in reducing the consequences of stress. In addition, all (private-public) institutions, together with the globalizing world, have to survive against the constantly evolving environment, changes and global competition. The biggest factor in the success of organizations in this environment depends on the motivation of employees to do the best. The stress faced in working life significantly affects the motivation of individuals in working life. The thesis consists of four main parts. In the first part, the concept of stress, the similarity of stress with the concepts of anxiety, frustration and conflict, the stages of stress and its relationship with the general adaptation syndrome are examined. Frustration is the disappointment of any effort to reach a goal. Worry is the feeling that the outcome will be negative in the face of events whose outcome is not clear. Stress consists of three stages: exhaustion, alarm and resistance. In the first part, the symptoms of stress, environmental, individual and organizational stress factors, and then the individual, physiological, psychological and organizational consequences of stress are explained. In the second chapter, the concept of motivation, its process, its importance, benefits, and process and scope theories, which are the main motivation theories, are examined in detail. Motivation is the process of individuals acting with their own desires and desires to achieve a certain goal. If you need to reconcile with the work done, motivation is the effort people make to reach their goals with stress while being in a stressful environment. Some people struggle with stress better and make stress advantageous in their own lives and increase their motivation. In addition, the majority of people are less motivated to achieve their goals by dealing with stress. In the third part, the relationship between stress and motivation is mentioned. The higher the stress levels of individuals, the lower their motivation levels are. For this reason, it is essential to minimize the stress and stress-causing factors and increase motivation in institutions in order to increase productivity. In the fourth and last part of the research, there is an application part of the research. In this section, the purpose, scope, limitation of the research, the method of the research, the way of collecting and evaluating the data obtained in the research, the hypotheses and analysis of the research are included. In order to test the hypotheses of the research, the data obtained within the scope of the thesis; Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett's test, factor analysis, validity and reliability analysis, frequency analysis, correlation and regression tests and Anova were subjected to. Four hypotheses have been put forward within the scope of the thesis. As a result of the analyzes made, two of these hypotheses were completely confirmed and one was rejected.
