A study on logos: Heidegger's "logos (Heraclitus fragment b 50)

The main conceptual structure of Heraclitus's philosophy, Λόγος is one of the basic and oldest concepts in the history of philosophy that may even shaped philosophical thinking. Ancient philosophy has a considerable influence on Heidegger's thought. This two philosophers of different eras, are met in one of the fragments of Heraclitus. Heidegger studied Heraclitus' Fragment B 50 in search of bringing Λόγος to the light. Trying to unveil its true relation with λέγειν and Being. He thoroughly investigates the fragment, using philological decoding, examining each word and the sentence they form. Heidegger defines Λόγος as Laying that gathers within its relation to λέγειν. Being of beings, which means the presencing of beings appears as the Laying that gather which is Λόγος. According to Heidegger, Heraclitus once brought the essence of Being to the light, to the light of Being. However language and Λόγος also varied in time. Therefore, Heidegger is aiming to unconceal the long forgotten exclusive meaning of λέγειν and Λόγος, and he at least succeeds to enlighten us about the way of how to think on that concept. Heidegger claims that what he explains is what Λόγος actually is, consequently using this explanation as a contribution to his own philosophy.
