Abstract (EN)
In this study, a water-cooled industrial cooling group with 300 kW cooling capacity was modeled and the annual thermal performance was investigated. The chiller condenser is designed as Shell and tube heat exchanger. Open-type counterflow cooling tower is designed and modeled to cool the water heated by the condenser. It has been assumed that the conditions of the evaporator have not changed in the study. The yearly variation of the condenser temperature, which affects the performance of the cooling group depending on the methodology, was determined and parametric studies were carried out on the performance of the unit. The effects of the parameters such as water temperature, water flow, wet bulb temperature, dry bulb temperature, tower fan turnover, liquid-gas ratio etc. on the cooling tower and cooling group performance were investigated. İt is determined that cooling tower can produce cooling water under 21°C for 8317 hour in a year. Annual performance of the chiller unit was modeled and calculated depending on cooling tower water exit temperature. Condensation temperature and coefficient of performance of the chiller group are calculated as 32 °C and 5.8 respectively.
