Abstract (EN)
Aim: Determine whether there is a difference in lipid profile between pregnant women with subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroid pregnant women without any chronic disease. Materialandmethod: This retrospective, single-center study wasc onducted in a tertiary hospital. It was carried out on pregnant patients who applied to the Internal Medicine out patient clinic of Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospita lbetween June 1, 2021 and January 1, 2022. Fifty patients and 50 control who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study. Results: The mean Total Cholesterol in the patient group was 197.82 (±52.23) mg/dl, and the mean Total Cholesterol in the control group was 193.57 (±45.15) mg/dl. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of Total Cholesterol(p=0.662). The median Triglyceride value of the patient group was 151.5 (100.5-209.25) mg/dl, and the medianTriglyceride value of the control group was 152 (115-240) mg/dl. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of triglycerides(p=0.379). The mean HDL of the patient group was 65.04 (±15.91) mg/dl, and the mean HDL of the control group was 64.16 (±13.36) mg/dl. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of HDL (p=0.763). The median LDL value of the patient group was 98.5(69.25-133.25) mg/dl, and the LDL median value of the control group was 98.5 (69.25-133.25) mg/dl. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of LDL (p=0.286). Conclusion:Although no significant relationship was found between pregnant women with subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroid pregnant women in terms of lipid parameters, we think that prospective studies with more patients may be beneficial in this regard.
