Investigation of the effect of equivalent sized spherical samples of storage conditions on the slake durability index tests results

SUMMARY The Slake Durability Index (SDI) test usually containing clay rocks wetting and drying cycles with the wear and leave the water dispersion resistance to an index showing the value applied to determine is a test. Slake Durability index has many parameters that affect the results of the test; Tested are rock samples or parts porosity, permeability, storage, shape and number used in the test fluid characteristics of the test instrument cycle counts, sieve opening, rotation speeds and test fluid temperature, chemical property water-dispensing behavior between these parameters can be considered. Slake Durability index test applied some problems with the storage of the samples are experienced. Tested the samples taken during the period until the disease and consequent loss of moisture in surface cracking occurs and for the test sample can not be used. For this purpose, the region received from Tunçbilek and Seyitömer were studied on three rock blocks. This study evaluated the physical properties of the samples and then subjected to experiments. The data obtained was used without air conditioning cabinet stand the test results in comparison with the results of the samples has been reached. As a result of these studies, with the samples kept in air-conditioning cabinets not stand the test results of the samples was concluded that there is no difference.
