Abstract (EN)
In this study sulfathiazole derivatives of (4-alkyl-1-naphthoylamino-N-thiazole-yl)benzenesulfonamide were synthesized. These derivatives were prepared from the corresponding 4-alkyl-1-naphthoic acids. These acids were converted to their acyl chlorides, and coupled with amino sulfathiazole, separately, via nucleophilic addition-elimination reactions giving (4-alkyl-1-naphthoylamino-N-thiazole-2-yl)benzenesulfonamides. The chemical structures of the compounds synthesized were characterized by Elemental Analysis, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1H NMR and 13C NMR), Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (LC-MS), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Photoluminescence (PL). The sulfathiazole derivatives obtained were evaluated for biological activity and examined for various physicochemical parameters.
