Life work and sufistific views of Sultan Veled, master thesis

Sultan Veled is a sufi lived in 13. Century. His father, Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, is one of the most famous poles in Anatolia. He gained alot about mystical thinking firstly from his father, Seyyid Burhaneddin Muhakkık Tirmizi, Şemseddin Tebrizi, Selahaddin Zerkubi, Hüsameddin Çelebi and Bektemüroğlu Kerimüddin. He systemazited the tariqa of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, who is a famous sufi, authority of his time and intellectual, and also founded Mevlevî community. With his evident and spiritual wisdom, he was always modest and always in deep love, and divinity. He had a great respect and commitment to his father and he also has a great ability in organizing that he could systematize the Mevlevî way. He was also a careful, reasonable and an observer of his time. He has some works named" as İbtidaname, Rebabname, Maarif, İntihaname and Divan. Those woks were translated from Persian to Turkish. According to him, unexperienced word seems like a cup without water because experience is better than word. The shortest way to reach Allah is not gained later but a natural endowment. He supports the idea of divinity of Allah and emphasize that there is nothing else in truth apart from Allah. He likens the fallower to the soil. If the fallower is modest, then he can gain some inspiration. In this study we tried to review the mainstreams of his mystical thinkings. We studied the issues of the tariqa such as mystical thinking, religion, praying and moral values. Key Words: Mevlana, Mevlevi Order, Sultan Veled, Sufism.
