Abstract (EN)

We compared the clinical efficacy and postoperative pain of the bupivacaine andlevobupivacaine in superficial cervical plexus block on elective thyroid surgery.ASA I-II, 18?70 ages 50 patients undergoing elective thyroid surgery divided intotwo groups randomly. Grup B (n=25) 100 mg %0,25 bupivakain 40 ml, Grup L (n=25) 100mg %0,25 levobupivakain 40 ml was given for superficial cervical plexus block. Sensorialblock onset time was controlled by pinprick test. After the operation was started bloodpressure, pulse, peripheral oxygen saturation, respiration rate, sedation score was recorded. This values was recorded until postoperative tree hours. After the operation was finishedtime to require analgesic was total analgesic time which was recorded. There was no significant statistical difference between the two groups for the patientssatisfaction, respiration rate, peripheral oxygen saturation, sedation score hemodynamy andside effects. After the operation was started hemodinamic parameter increased from thirtyminutes in both of groups. Sensorial block onset time was short in bupivacaine group (grupB?de 90 sec ± 41 sec, grup L?de 146 sec ± 29 sec). Sensorial block finish time(Grup L?de289 minute ± 110 minute, Grup B?de 286minute ± 79minute ) and analgesic require wasless in bupivacaine group although this was not important statistical. Patient satisfactionwas higher in the bupivacaine group. Significant side effects were not observed in bothgroups. As a result of bilateral superficial cervical plexus block underwent thyroidectomy for% 0.25bupivacaine was concluded to be superior than %0.25 levobupivacaine.
