Devolopment of superhydrophobic ceramic surfaces

Abstract (EN)

In this study, to create a superhydrophobic surface on the ceramic material is manufactured by using inorganic materials for different surface morphologies. To exhibit superhydrophobic feature, a surface should have micron scale roughness on an inherently hydrophobic material. A surface on which water contact angle is greater than 1500, is called a superhydrophobic surface. This extreme water-repellency feature have attracted much attention for many applications in industry and in daily- life. Environmentalists have a feature that will allow the surface roughness at the micro and nano-sized ceramic surface for the creation of a self-cleaning feature has aimed to improve the powder morphology. In this regard, grinding systems using nano technology and the nano and micron-sized crystals of mullite whiskers hydrolysis of AlN powder, a variety of surface morphology of oxidation and powder application were created. As a result mullite whisker crystals and AlN may be modified with a hydrophobic material on the surface of the powder applied to ceramic substrates by spraying, dipping powder was obtained with contact angles over 1500. Mullite whiskers were seen to be higher than the surface of the wear resistance formed by crystals.
