Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to experimentally explain the mechanical behavior of pure and iron-doped Bi-2223 superconducting materials under load, and the relationship between hardness and modulus of elasticity by using bending test, Vickers hardness measurement and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. Experimental results show that mechanical strength, critical stress, stiffness and durability are strengthened due to the creation of new operable shear systems by adding iron to the basic matrix, increasing resistance to movement of cracks, dislocations and defects. In both samples produced, the elasticity (Young) modulus, yield strength, hardness, shear modulus, resilience (the ability to recover elastic energy) values are dependent on the load, and its decrease with the applied load shows that the samples exhibit Indentation Size Effect (ISE) behavior. However, numerical results show that these values are higher for the iron-doped sample under any applied load. In addition, the experimental results show that the iron addition reduces the sensitivity to the test load, and it has been observed that the pure sample quickly reaches the saturation (plateau) region, which is the hardness value independent of the load, at smaller loading values compared to the iron-added sample. The mechanical behavior properties of the samples in addition to experimental studies were investigated with 6 different theoretical approaches as regards Meyer's Law (ML), proportional sample resistance (PSR), modified proportional sample resistance (MPSR), Elastic-Plastic Deformation (EPD), Hays-Kendall (HK) and Indentation-Induced Cracking (IIC).
