Abstract (EN)

In this study, the emergence of the concept of sustainable development and the development of 17 determined targets within the scope of BRICS and Turkey are investigated. Sustainable development goals, which are the focal point of human development, aim at development in all economic, environmental and social dimensions. In this respect, the progress in achieving the sustainable development goals between 2000 and 2022 is very important for Agenda 2030. In the first part of the study, the emergence of sustainable development goals within the framework of economic growth and development and their developments until today are presented in a theoretical framework. In the second part, the developments and institutional transformations of the BRICS countries on sustainable development are tried to be revealed. Finally, in the third chapter, an analysis of the development of sustainable development goals was made in the light of the theoretical frameworks mentioned in the first two chapters. In the study, it has been concluded that the BRICS and Turkey countries stand behind the target of sustainable development goals and they have more distance to achieve the goals. It has been revealed that the adequacy of the practices and policies mentioned in the study is limited and they have a structure that is quite open to development.
