Evaluation of the relationship of sustainable development and sustainable agriculture from the finance dimension: The case of Nallıhan

Agriculture has had an important position in the economy since the emergence of humanity. Today, it has a very important social and strategic place in terms of meeting the food needs of people, contributing to the country's economy and being a source of employment. While the destruction of natural resources with technological advances and the inefficiency of renewable resources as a result of excessive use pose a threat to the living standards of future generations, it is necessary to take precautions to minimize the threats. At this point, with the 1990s, the expression of sustainable development entered our lives as a framework in which the concern for economic growth and social justice, democracy, participation and civil society supremacy was emphasized, with the awareness of ecological limitations and the need to leave a protected environment for future generations. In this study, face-to-face interviews were conducted with those who actively work in the agricultural sector in Nallıhan district of Ankara. The answers given by the participants to the questions posed to them were completely recorded in the interview form. The study is in the nature of a qualitative research, the data obtained were organized, categorized, and meaningful results were obtained through analysis and synthesis. The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between sustainable development and agriculture and to reveal results about how agriculture can be sustainable, by consulting the ideas of the people who do this work. Looking at the data obtained as a result of the study, it is seen that there is a positive relationship between agriculture and sustainable development, using technological developments correctly, protecting nature, supporting agriculture through the state, and gaining knowledge and skills.
