Abstract (EN)

Sustainable rural tourism helps to ensure the sustainability of natural resources in rural areas without destroying them, and to help local people generate economic income in the long run. The accommodation type supported by sustainable rural tourism is the home boarding model. When this model is planned together with sustainable rural tourism, it enables employment creation in rural areas, recognition of local culture, and increase the quality of life and living standards of the rural people. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the social, cultural, economic and environmental effects of hostel management in the context of sustainable rural tourism.Qualitative research method was used in the study, and a semi-structured interview form was presented to the participants.According to the results evaluated in the findings, home boarding has not progressed very widely in the province of Artvin, incentives and supports are not fully utilized by the hostel, and in some regions multishare houses prevent forward-looking house boarding planning for houses.At the same time, it can be said that the house boarding business improves the quality of life of the local people, the economic income has spread to the whole village people and does not cause any environmental degradation damage in the village. It has been stated that home-boarding business provides cultural transfer, as a friendly relationship is established between local people and visitors in rural areas and a family atmosphere is created.
