Abstract (EN)

Increasing the amount of greenhouse gas emitted into the atmosphere has brought the effects of global warming to striking dimensions nowadays. The negative results of global warming affect many natural resources and and also endanger the existance of water, which is the basic element for living things. Protection of the water source; In addition to ensuring the sustainability of the ecological balance, it also contributes to the transmission of it to future generations. For these reasons, water must be managed and used rationally. In this context, landscape design applications are one of the areas where water is used intensively in recent years. In areas where water shortages are experienced, xeriscape landscaping works are remarkable as a sustainable application and compatible with nature. The preference of cultivated plants or natural species that consume less water in plantation studies in xeriscape landscaping practices is effective in reducing water usage. In this direction, it is aimed to lead the research by contributing to the restoration of the natural balance of the ecosystem by selecting the suitable plant species for the xerophytic landscape and applying sustainable landscape designs. Accordingly, in the research, the existing plant existence in "Sarigerme Daily Public Beach" was determined and it was concluded that many of them are suitable for xeriscape approach because of being natural species. In addition, plant design project in the study area was realized in accordance with xeriscape principles and suggestions for other xeriscape designs applications have been also included.
