Abstract (EN)

Problems such as climate change, carbon footprint, ineffective use of renewable energy resources, pollution and reduction of water resources, and inability to provide effective waste management have begun to threaten the future of our planet. Against these threatening problems, solutions should be offered by approaching them sensitively and with great care. For this, ecological urban design principles and the opportunities offered by technology can be used. The eco-tech urban design approach, in which sustainability is the focus and technology is used as a tool to make sustainability more efficient, has an important place in landscape planning and design. By including the eco-tech urban design approach in the planning and design phase of public spaces, the relationship between people and nature is strengthened, and the quality of life of present and future generations is increased. Coastal ecosystems are aesthetically and functionally valuable and sensitive ecosystems. Trade, marketing, transportation, tourism, etc. used for many purposes. The coasts are exposed to human intervention due to these services and aesthetic value. It is necessary to approach with great care in the planning and design of coastal areas that are exposed to human intervention as well as physical factors. Working area; It is located in the city center of Zonguldak. It is located on Liman Street, in the western part of Gazipaşa Street, which is the busiest street of the city. In this study, qualitative data collection methods such as observation, interview and document analysis were used. The aim of this study; To provide a design guide for the protection and development of coastal landscape, designing sustainable coastal public space and increasing the potential of the study area. The findings related to the study area are presented under 5 main headings. These; Findings related to site design are findings related to transportation, findings related to technology use, findings related to infrastructure, and findings related to building design. The current design of the area was examined under the title of "Findings on Area Design". The accessibility of the study area and transportation systems were examined under the title of "Findings Related to Transportation". Under the title of "Findings on the Use of Technology", where and for what purpose technology is used in the study area has been examined. Under the title of "Findings Regarding Infrastructure", the infrastructure of the area was examined. Under the title of "Findings on Building Design", the ecological suitability of the buildings has been examined. As a result of the findings, eco-tech design guide is presented in the context of sustainability.
