Abstract (EN)

The research is divided into four chapters that cover the following subjects: The study's goal and scope are outlined in the introduction. Initially research evaluates a variety of global cases and presents broad principles to offer a context for the subject. Then a historical and topographical research of Homs was conducted, after which the study area was carefully selected and its justifications were defined. When studying a specific urban region, high resolution aerial photographs given by the GIS application were used in addition to the field survey. After that previous plans were used to provide an initial evaluation of the extent of the damage, and new identity cards were produced for the examined locations. In terms of research breadth, this chapter is the most focused priority streets have been identified, along with arguments for their strategic position and future growth potential. In addition, new design recommendations were offered in the analyzed urban area to enhance the silhouette of two streets comprised of old and modern structures with varying degrees of deterioration. In the last section, a broad assessment of the prior polls results was presented under the heading "War is a rebirth." The revised guidelines, developed through expert input, were also compared to the pre-war condition. As a consequence, a new hypothesis has been developed that may be used to guide any future conservation approach.
