In the integration of Syrian refugees to society role of the Presidency of Religious affairs: Küçükçekmece example

This study discusses the role of the Presidency of Religious Affairs as a religious and official institution in integrating Syrian refugees into society. As an institution that aims to provide religious services to all segments of the society, what does the Presi- dency of Religious Affairs do for the integration of Syrian refugees with their society, do the activities serve integration, or further streng then the isolation of the local and migrant people? This study, shaped around these questions, was used to get her with a semi-structured interview technique with a total of 33 Syrian participants who were given religious services and religious education and a structured interview technique with 50 religious officials. Meanwhile, to identify work being done in general about the Syrian refugees across Istanbul and Küçükçekmece I attended workshops and meetings held as a participant and observer. The study evaluates the compatibility of the Syrian refugees who receive religious ed- ucation and service based on the concept of integration, and the acceptance of the ref- ugees in two ways by measuring the view and perceptions of the religious officials serving the Syrian refugees. As a result of the field data and interviews, it was observed that the Presidency of Religious Affairs acts as a bridge between the local community and the immigrant people, and they carry out activities that will facilitate their integration in to the society. It was concluded that those who received religious service and religious education from the Mosque and the Qur'an courses both relaxed, socialized, and their anxiety to move away from their language and culture decreased.
