Abstract (EN)

In this study, a sixteenth-century work, " KitÀbüél-èacÀibüél-àarÀib " has been evaluated. This book was translated from Arabic by Sürurì, an important poet of his time, at Şehzade (Prince) Mustafa's request. Since a translation study has not been made on " Kitabü'l-'acaibü'l-garaib " the inscription of the translation has been made initially. Secondly, the book has been examined from a linguistic perspective. At this point, semiotics has been used as a method. The titles to be analysed via semiotics have been chosen from the basic lingual elements such as phonetic, morphological, syntactical and superior clausal elements. The following topics, have been analysed in this work: the orthography of the text from the aspect of phonetics, the combined verbs from the aspect of the morphological and syntactical units, and the relationship between text-language-miniature as a superior clausal element from the semiotic theories of F.De. Saussure and C.S. Peirce.
