Sutûrî, his biography,his literary identity and his divan

Being known as alive in Muslim calendar 1828 ,İbrahim Sutûrî, is one of the Divan poets of last era .In our study, beginning with analyzing his poems, information is given about Suturi?s biography , literary identity and his work, his Divan?s transcripsioned text is formed. Any other work of Suturi?s is not known except his Divan. His Divan is consisted of 538 ghazals, 3 muhammes, 2 müseddes, 2 tahmis, 1 müstezat, 1 mesnevi, 2 murabba, 3 eulogies , 9 tarih ve 4 couplets. His usage of verse regulation manifests his being a ?ghazal poet?.The effects of folk poets on Divan poets and their lack in producing strong poems , in addition to them the pureness of language and the usage of idioms with the effect of movement of localization are the characteristics of 19.century Divan poem. It is possible to see these characteristics in Suturi?s Divan. When Divan poem is dying in agony ,the poet is trying to produce poems with the mind of Divan literature , he chooses Fuzuli,one of the strongest poet of Divan and his style as a guide and he has done his best to become an expert of his style.Suturi?s Divan is considered as having a contribution, even it is a small contribution, in determining the last moment when Divan literature is in existence and manifesting 19.century poetry understanding and social life .
