Abstract (EN)
Improvement studies about the characteristics of the thermoset polymers, which are used for applications that require high performance, such as aerospace/ aircraft industry, electronic components, adhesives , coatings and microelectronic industries are progressing rapidly. Especially epoxy resins and cyanate esters are attracting attention as being the most studied polymers. In spite of all the outstanding features of these materials, their widespread use is unfortunately limited in many applications by their inherent brittle behavior. For this reason, they have to be modified structurally or used as a blend by mixing with different type of thermoset resins. For this purpose, epoxy/cyanate blends were prepared by curing the commercial epoxy resins with cyanate monomers. But in these studies, some limitations on the propeties of the blends obtained by the use of commercial epoxies have emerged.The aim of this study is the synthesis of more superior liquid crystalline epoxy resins (LCE) which are going to be used in stead of commercial epoxy resins, synthesis of different types of cyanate esters and curing these resins by mixing each other with different amounts.The materials which are going to be obtained are designed to be easy to apply, have better mechanical performance and significantly improved than similar products in literature.
